Abstract?! Who me?!

Here are the paintings I did during our Abstract unit of Oil Painting. As usual they start at the earliest and work down to the most recent. They are all on paper except the last one which is on wood panel (which I built in the wood-shop myself! Ha!)

Some Serious Backlog

Well, I've been really bad about posting art this semester. Mostly I blame it on the fact that the paintings I make are too big to be easily scanned and so I haven't taken the time to upload them another way. But now I am going to make up for it by creating several posts in the next little bit.

First, these are more of the paintings from our still life oil unit (from earliest to most recent).

Beginning with Color

This is a painting I did over two class periods. It is a still life of a bunch of multi-colored cylinders (super exciting). It's my first delve into color and I think it turned out alright!

Introduction

This is where I am going to post all of my new art. I have decided after consulting with different sources and thinking about it that I am going to stop putting my art on facebook. I will put a link to this blog so that when I post new art those who are my friends on facebook will be able to see it. I think it is a more... professional (?) way to show my art among other things.

To start it off, these are my first three oil paintings ever. My painting class is slowly growing on me (especially now that the teacher has decided to teach us...). I can't wait to be good at painting!

The first two are strictly one color of paint (raw umber) and paint thinner. The third one is the one color mixed with white and black.
